PP-L Biosafety appointed to new Dynamic Purchasing System for Air Purification

PP-L Biosafety has been appointed to a new Dynamic Purchasing System, set up by the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s Commercial Procurement Services, for the provision of Air Purification technologies.

The Trust has recognised the importance of these solutions, stating, “NHS Organisations and other public sector bodies have a responsibility to their staff, patients, visitors and/or other service users to keep them safe. Air purification and decontamination devices utilise a variety of methods to remove, minimise or otherwise eliminate contaminants in the air such as pollutants, allergens or airborne pathogens.”

Dr Rhys Thomas, chief medical & scientific officer at PP-L, says, “Our medical-grade air purifiers both filter and disinfect air at the highest efficacy levels of clinical-grade quality. This is achieved using a range of germicidal technologies such as HEPA filters, with antimicrobial copper mesh screens and germicidal UV, all contained, working together safely, and performing really powerful air disinfection and sterilisation.”

Although the Countess of Chester Hospital Foundation Trust instigated the Dynamic Purchasing System, it is available to all public sector organisations to use. The Trust has over 3,000 employees and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 250,000 residents, mainly in Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston and the Deeside areas.

Their high clinical outcomes and standards were recognised for the twelfth consecutive year of the being within the 40 Top Hospitals Award.
